Memories of Steve Parks
Steve Parks would have graduated in 1983. I believe he received his GED though. Steve passed unexpectedly on April 7, 2008. He was my Uncle.
Steve was.....unique. He could always find a way to make you smile. He gave the best bear hugs. He would help you through any situation with his advice on how to solve a problem. His quick wit was absolutely amazing. He could crack a joke without even thinking about it, pause a moment, and then belt out a hearty laugh. He was a talented musician, an avid sportsman, and a loved soul.
Time took him before we could blink. As his family, we grieved for quite a while. I still cry to this day whenever I see his picture. I think to myself that this will be the only way I will ever see his smile again, or look into his eyes. My boyfriend and cousin presented me with a gift on my 30th birthday. It was perhaps the most moving gift I have ever received. It was a picture of Steve and my Grandfather (he passed away Nov. 30, 2008) with their arms around each other smiling. All I could do was hug this picture to my chest and cry. I felt as though Steve was given back to me, if only for my birthday.
Steve Parks will always be in my heart, as well as others. We all loved him with a passion. We know he's better off in Heaven, and is no longer in pain.
I love you my dear uncle.
